Artist's Description

This shot was taken from the top of Brushy Mountain. This is one of the prettiest views I’ve seen in the Smokies. The flowers you see here are rhododendren, there are various types of these flowers (several hundred) so I won’t attempt to name this specifically. You can make it here via trillium gap trail. The hike up trillium gap trail wasn’t very hard, nor was it very eye pleasing (as is most of the trails on this side of the mountain). If you are thinking about hiking up to mt. leconte, please go up either alum cave or start from New Found Gap. The views from alum cave bluff are absolutely amazing, which make the steep climb worth the effort.
