Artist's Description

The octopus princess lived on a beach in a tiny bunker where she collected bottle caps, clothing articles, and lots of plants. Everyday she explored the private beach before her but could not bring herself to leave the sandy banks for she did not know what would happen to her.
Upon coming home with a pocket full of shiny candy wrappers, she noticed a four-armed man hanging from the shackles in the ceiling. At first she wanted nothing to do with him, and shooed him out. But after some small chat, and realizing he was no danger to her, she offered him tea and befriended him.

One afternoon as the sky slowly turned pink, the spider boy asked the princess to come into town with him. She admitted she was afraid, since she has never left the ocean’s side before. Hearing this, the spider allowed the octopus to bring him into the ocean, for he was afraid of it. He suggested if he tried something new for her, she could try something in return. She swam beside him and held him in her arms while they watched the sunset.

As the sun settled, and the pink and blue colors reflected onto the water, the princess whispered “Isn’t this the most beautiful thing you’ve seen?”
The spider looked up at the young princess, who was looking up at the colors and replied, “Not even close.”
