Production of the Allis-Chalmers HD-5 began in 1946 and ended in 1955. Having built 29,255 units it was the company’s best selling crawler. It featured a two-cylinder, two-cycle, GM diesel and a long list of options that made it popular with farmers, contractors, and loggers. It could be bought new in 1955 for $6,585.
