Artist's Description

Thanks to Byron (barnsis) for telling me about the programme to create mosaics!

I put all the stages of my Gorilla painting in the mosaic and will add more as I progress with the painting.

No 7: Gorilla looks like he is wearing chainmail… poor fella!
No 8: Glazed over the ‘chainmail’ look to push back the colour and painted another layer of fur, glazed over.
No 9: A new layer of fur, this time without liquin and this is where the process slows down… now paint must dry.
N0 10: Close up of the ear region. Already the various layers are starting to resemble fur… still lots more to apply, though!
No 11. Another glaze to push back the lighter hair using shades of rust, umber and paynes grey
No 12. Another layer of fur applied, this time light grey, ultramarine blue mixed with paynes grey and raw umber

I hope you find it interesting. This is where you start to fall in love with your painting… as it could take a long time to complete the fur – so the painting becomes a part of your being. If you lack the patience for the stages that follow… don’t even try it!!!
