Tina and Roberto were a young couple from my neighborhood who got married on our front lawn. (The apartment underneath mine is a church part of the time.) Everything seemed to be against this wedding- on the night before the original date, a car lost control and smashed through our building (a rude awakening!) and the wedding had to be delayed a week. When I found our that there was no photographer, I volunteered to take pictures. (I later regretted my decision; it was the hottest day of the summer, nearly 100* F). When I saw that Tina didn’t have any flowers, I ran upstairs to grab the silk pansies in my bedroom. The reception was a Mexican 3 milk cake (very yummy) and lemonade. I have attended some weddings that were huge bashes, more like a Hollywood production. Nothing compares to the sweetness of this little wedding; it was very moving. I am happy to report that they continue to be married and have 2 children.
PS- Tina cried when she saw got the photos

nice image
Thank you! I was so happy how the photos turned out, especially with the bad location (our apartment building, which a car had smashed through the week before- the wedding had to be delayed). I was working around a lot of junk on the lawn and inside the apartment, which was all smashed up. The big lesson this taught me is that it’s more about the marriage and not the wedding.
brilliant image, good luck to them, good on you for helping, your right the wedding day is not as important as how they treat each other in life
