Artist's Description

Location: Tenney Park; Madison, Wisconsin

Known officially (and boringly) as the Tenney Park Pedestrian Bridge, spans the Yahara River/Tenny Lagoon. It was built in May 1971. It won the 44th American Institute of Steel’s Prize Bridge-Special Purpose award in 1972.

The adjacent shelter is scheduled to be rebuilt. Garrison Keillor held a fundraising benefit in May 2009, in honor of his brother who passed away as a result of ice skating injuries at Tenney Park.

Tenney Park sits on the shore of Lake Mendota with there yahara River wandering through.
