Identity

What if I am not who you think I am?
Would you still love me and believe in the woman I have become?
What if the person I see when I look in the mirror is still just a blur?
Identity… What it means to you, maybe I cannot be.
Afraid of letting myself be truly free, to feel all that there is
Which you so freely give, unequivocally to me
So what now, the questions linger within my soul
How will I ever truly know?
When to just let go, of my past, of this present moment
And of the almost perfect future which I have so carefully planned,
Holding onto painful and fleeting memories,
Only to keep up this false pretense of who I pretend to be
Blindly gripping into the dark, unkempt chambers of my heart
Trying to seek out and find a lost part of myself
Hidden deep within my soul’s wealth of undying love
To generate the strength within me, to be the person, I intend to be.
