Artist's Description

Catching the Catcher is about the great merry-go-round of life. How we run not necessarily forward but away from our fears and troubles whilst trying to negotiate the treacherously moving playing field, which I’ve shown as spinning, rising and falling flat topped pinnacles. The girl is trying to leap from one to the other and also keep an eye on the evil sharp pincers of The Catcher closing in., ready to lop her head off. We all wish that when things are sliding into a hole and The Catcher is upon us that something will come along and say “not today” and remove The Catcher from the game. We can at least have a small particle of breathing space to stop and look around. This work was done in pen, ink, pen and coloured pencil on two end to end textured white 120gsm bond paper , mounted on card and under glass.
