Artist's Description

During the winter months we often see a large halo around the Moon – due to ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. In this image the planet, Jupiter, is close by looking like a bright star. The clouds give a dynamic sense to a ‘still’ image.

Tripod mounted Nikon D300 with a fisheye lens at full aperture with about a 3-second exposure.

Larger file will be uploaded in due course.
