Corner

Sitting alone in the corner,
With only ones thoughts to keep entertained,
A small smirk on his face,
He couldn’t be happier,
To be on his own,

He never understood,
What it meant to be part of the group,
But then again he never truly wanted to be,
All he was, was a boy who was his own,

But the world tried to change him,
Told him to straighten up and fly right,
Get in line or fall behind,
But he never really wanted to,
He just wanted to follow his dreams,
It was never about the fame, fortune, money or popularity,
Simply the smile on his face,
Was all that he wanted,

Now forced to conform with everyone else,
No longer sitting in the corner,
With a smirk on his face,
Its all upside down,
As he trys to understand,
Where it all went so wrong,

Searching for his answers,
To questions he didn’t really know,
Beginning to slip and slide,
He lost all confidence,
And began to slip out of line,
Back into the corner on his own,
But with no smirk,
Just on his own,
With broken dreams,
And a faceful of tears,

He tries to pick himself up to escape that horrid corner,
But in every direction he goes,
He comes to another corner
