An Annoying Itch

Jesse was a young boy who had just started his first year of college. His time at college hadn’t started well. he was constantly taunted and bashed by other people. Jesse quit college so he could get a job.

Jesse searched for a good paying job, but all he could manage to get was a lousy job at the local takeaway shop. To make his life even more a misery his brother succeeded at everything he tried like sport or he would get any job he tried for.

Jesse’s only support was his only friend Cole. He had been a friend since primary school. Unfortunately Cole’s family had to move out of the area because his father got a very good job.

Now Jesse was alone. He felt like he was in hell living an eternity of torture. Everything he tried at he failed. He decided to quit his job and take school back up. But nothing had changed at school. Everyone still hated him and provoked him.

This was the breaking point for Jesse. He figured that death had to be easy because life was hard. Jesse sat in a place which allowed him to think.
“This place is just hell. I am hated by every living thing. Anything I try, I fail. I’m not meant for this place. The only impression I get is that it would be better off without me. I’m sure I will be better off anywhere, but here. Everyone has driven me further along this path leaving me only one option.”
With his remaining money he brought a scratch ticket. He took the ticket home with the note and attached the ticket to it. He then placed the parcel inside an envelope addressed to: “To Whom It May Concern”

Late that night Jesse went down to the basement of his house where his father’s gun collection was stored. Jesse quickly and quietly removed two automatic weapons. He placed the weapons into his bag with as much ammunition as he could possibly carry.

The next day at school when people started harassing him in the school canteen he decided it was time for action. He pulled the weapons out of his bag and fired multiple rounds into the crowded building, killing and wounding many people. Jesse then stopped the massacre by turning the gun on himself.

His Mum read the note and scratched the scratch ticket… three of the same came up.

Artist's Description

This is the last of my old writing pieces that i felt i would like to put up. I wrote this when i was in school, and truthfully the story was in a way about me and the things taking place around me. Again it was a dark time in my life and in a way i wanted to snap without the consequences, so i wrote this.
