Ashlee Lauren developed an interest in photography at an early age. She began shooting subjects at around seven years old: the new Barbies she got for Christmas with her mother’s Canon SLR. Since then her subjects have grown with her. As the age of digital photography dawned, she was free to begin experimenting uninhibited. While she has no formal training, she has studied the art of photography and has “picked up tips” from the greats, such as Ansel Adams. She has a thorough knowledge of photo editing techniques and favors a slightly vintage aesthetic. She also has a heart for the rich black and white tones of film and daguerreotype photographs and likes to emulate this style. In addition to photography, she enjoys reading and writing.

Ashlee Lauren Photography began in 2008 with a series of photos called “The Red Umbrella Diaries.” It was in that moment that Ashlee discovered her photography style that she has worked to refine over the following years. She loves photos that are reminiscent of vintage times, and that celebrate the beauty and the wonder of the everyday adventure.
