Hamburg, NY ~ Winter 2012-13

We here in Hamburg, NY, escaped the wrath of Big Storm Nemo. The system that arrived from the West & clashed with the Southeastern
component to form the classic Nor’easter off the east coast passed north of us, dumped a foot or so 30 miles away, then moved right along. But friends & relatives (& several people qualify as both) in New England have been hammered soundly. Here, tranquility reigns, & what snow did fall, about 4 inches, sits quietly on the tree branches. This is one shot taken from our dining room window & is part of the view I see when I swivel 180 degrees. Not bad. Not bad at all. Our erstwhile Christmas tree (now a haven for birds & furry rodentia) can be seen, lashed to a Norway maple, looking at least as pretty as it did when it was in the living room, albeit less tinselly. I also took another picture with the opposite bokeh… focus on the heart, blurry snowy background. In fact, I went berserk & took a Whole Bunch. But what else is new?
This is truly the winter season I LOVE. What better Valentine?
