Gladys Dorothy Elson (1912 ~ 1996) pours at a photographer’s studio tea party in 1915. This is one of five fetching photos taken at the same session & they hung in a frame in Gladys’s bedroom for most of her life. Only one was signed by the photographer, & the name appears to be ‘Beamer’… probably based in Buffalo or Tonawanda, NY, though I can find no record of any such studio to date. Gladys was my mother, & she can be seen in several images in my gallery. Today (16 June) would have been her 98th birthday, so I figured she deserved some recognition & a cup of tea. Here’s to you, Mom!
This is Number 4 in the set. Number 1 can be seen here. And here is Number 3 .
