I Am Still Here, More Or Less...

Hello one & all ~
Just a brief note to let you know that I haven’t folded my tent & slipped into the teeth of the storm (though the wind is beginning to howl here in Western New York… some 600 miles from the heart of the matter), & that I do hope to be back with more vigor in the near future.
I had cataract surgery on both eyes in the course of one week (right eye on October 18, left eye on the 25th), & all is well. So-called ‘small incision’ surgery means no bandages, no stitches, no restrictions, & the operation itself takes about 5 minutes. I’m back on the computer in small doses, though I now can read without glasses, & this screen doesn’t look quite so daunting.
Here’s to all who are dealing with Sandy up close, personal, & beleaguered. We expect strong-to-high winds overnight, along with considerable rain, but nothing close to hurricane force. Our big trees are always vulnerable in wind events, but there’s not much to be done about that.
Hope to see (& comment on) everybody’s postings soon.

Sheila
