Artist's Description

Mak sat by the window as the sun shone between the slats of the blind. As the lines wrapped around her naked body, it transformed into a topographic map of her feminine power.

This is the only image of mine to have been featured in a show on Broadway. An 8 foot high framed print hung on the set of American Psyco for its debut in Londons Almeida Theatre in 2013 and again when American Psyco opened on Broadway in 2016.

The sash cord shadow on her left arm and the three tones mark it as one of my first of this kind. The window was dirty, causing the light to spread into the gray band, a cool effect I did not expect.

The Model: Kajira was working on her masters in Women’s Studies when we met at an erotic art show in Detroit. As her chosen name inferred she was a submissive active in a Gorean lifestyle. She was young, beautiful, and possibly the most uninhibited woman I have ever photographed.

The Process: I captured this image digitally in my Toledo Oh studio.

The Art: An exploration of spirit and power expressed in the flow of the human form.

The Artist: Chris Maher, a professional fine art photographer with more than 30 years of experience creating images and selling prints at art shows, in galleries, and now online.
