Artist's Description

I enjoy using any manner of objects as painting canvas, including ordinary rocks.

Or, not so ordinary….

Typically, a rock… is just a rock. But sometimes, when luck smiles upon me, very special ones reveal themselves. Then I ‘see’ rock people, little figures hidden within the naturally formed bumps, corners and crevices of ordinary stones — Nature’s very own sculpture. With the help of a bit of paint, I enjoy ‘liberating’ these unique wee folk for others to enjoy as well…..

“Under the light of the full moon, this ordinary stone morphs into the embodiment of the Roman goddess, Minerva —to sail through the night, hair flowing, and her owl ‘familiar’ tucked securely under her arm……” (figure painted on all sides following the natural shapes and contours of the rock.)……..
