Sealandair were a haulage company contracted to John Summers steel to haul their products nation wide but their lorries also transported scrap back to the blast furnaces for re-cycling. They ran a huge fleet, mainly Leylands, and many were re-bodied and re-cabbed during their lifetimes which accounts for this lorry’s 40×8 tyres under a “Mouth Organ” type cab.
This painting 20″×30″ in oils on board was painted for a calendar in 2004 and sold later to a Leyland enthusiast.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about £1500.
