Me and another teacher and 26 students off for 10 days on a Murray Darling Camp!!!!

On Monday I am off for 10 days touring Victoria and outback New South Wales with a group of year 9 students….!!!!
I am looking forward to the photo opportunities that I will presented with…here’s hoping there will be lots. I have not been to some of these areas so I will be surprised by the landscapes and the colours, I think!
First stop with my 26 students is Echuca along the Murray River only 270 km from home. Second day is a very long bus journey of 685 km to the opal mining town of Whitecliffs, an overnight stay underground, next day we will fossick for opals and a look around town.
In the afternoon we are off again this time a shorter journey to the large mining town of Broken Hill. We will stay here for three days sleeping in tents (the whole trip just different locations), then off to the Mungo National Park 321 km from Broken Hill.
This is one of the richest archaeological sites in the world. the oldest intact human skeleton has been found here and dated at around 70,000 years old!!! Now I don’t feel quite so old?!
We will be guided by the Barkindji Traditional owner of the land who will give the students some insights into the Aboriginal perspective of this wonderful area. I am looking forward to the Walls of China a natural feature of the area, hope to get some beautiful shots….wildlife….bush….etc.
Then off to Wentworth the meeting place of the Murray and Darling Rivers 2 of Australia’s greatest rivers. We will then be off to Mildura on the boarder of the states of NSW and Victoria, only 180 km. We will be in Mildura for 2 days before returning to school/ home after a 550 km trip! through country Victoria !!! tired just thinking about it! I am excited and keen to explore some new areas of this wonderful country. wish me good weather and beautiful sunsets… and well behaved 15 year olds !!!!?? =)
