“Art Cooler” is my user name describing what I do for a living – keep art cool (art museum environmental control). When I’m not in the trenches with the equipment, I like to create art that hopefully is “cool”.

I was raised by artists (father a political cartoonist, grandmother an accomplished slide photographer, who in my opinion was on par with Laura Gilpin or Elliot Porter) and have found photography to be the most satisfying form for my own creative muse. Architecture, nature, people, abstract; if I think it might make a good photo I strive to capture it not only technically well, but to delight the eye alongside.

I consider myself a perpetual learner even should I someday attain a degree of photography mastery. I enjoy sharing what I learn about the craft as I go along, and like to learn from other artists and photographers.

Overall, my desire as an artist is to express beauty, fun, and wonder wherever it may be found.
