Artist's Description

On a 22 X 15 Linen Cloth made and sewed to fit on a flower bed flag, I ground mineral’s, and made an Illusion of this Kitten. Linen cloth , not really cloth but made from the stem fiber of the Flex Plant, will take the grinding of the earth minerals, as no other cloth will, without damaging the cloth. The grinding with my flat sediment stone embeds the talcum texture minerals ( ground in a mortar and pestle made from marble) along with the minerals crystals in to the fibers of the linen. This makes the illusions appear to move or shift as your eyes receive the light that is bent by the crystals.
This is a new avenue of art I have started, along with embedding minerals into plaster of Paris flower and garden beds statutes. Then spraying both linen and statutes with polyester clear coat spray, making the water proof and the minerals do not fade their colors as does chemically produced colors.
This is now a all year around art worked that is moved in to the flower arrangements indoor for the winter.
Enjoy the creativity , and illusion of the work as the person I did for will for a life time.
