Faeries

When you make to quietly tiptoe away,
The faeries may decide to come out and play.
When you sit quietly under the trees,
A slight movement, a mysterious giggle, or a pair of twinkling eyes,
Might just give away the presence
Of the wingéd people high up in the skies,
Or tinkling, like a clear crystal bell, a faerie’s laugh,
As you wonder at that tiny winding path,
Leading to an earthy cavern filled with mosses next to a waterfall
Where faeries come to discuss
And feast in the Great Hall.
There may you wonder at the sight;
It is the peace that is the magic of the day-faeries,
And the ones that come out at night.
