A Triplet of Tankas from the Edinburgh Churches Climate Change Conference, October 2008

You know it can’t last
Yet you do it still –
Why? ‘What will they think’?
Too fearful, that! – stampeding with the herd
Headlong toward the brink.

Earth’s future hero,
Meek, stands free -
Not slave to faceless systems,
Not demanding mastery -
But, giving all, rich beyond compare.

God will do what God will do!
Be a person he can use,
Willing clay
In master-craftsman’s hands:
He’s shaping us to shape our times.
