In the Halls of Princes

Today I was a warrior
Dear heart
I fought
Tooth and nail
Like a speared red dragon’s tail
For our spurned and radiant love

Today’s battle
Brave soul
Was torn
curved and viciously clawed
Like a collision course of hate
Across my scarred and defiant face

I fought with honour
My love
While your courage
Carried our thirst
Like soft winged doves of god
And saved tears of welcome surrender
To sing victories across the mountains of our souls

In the Halls of Princes
