SEEMED LIKE 5-7 DAYS OF WAKING LIFE
(can still feel it in my legs)

captivated by this poets speech
but could not look him straight in the eye
the group of writers workshop-ing in another
sector of the room snivel
eventually ask us to leave
there was a history lived through before this scene
so we talk on the way to the parking lot
can’t remember about what
i leap a large distance when i realize i can here
the momentum trips me up as i land
a graceful spill but i seem to catch myself
ability to fly kind of rickety
swooping lethargic gravity currents get the best of me
as i run into two neighborhood kids from the past that interchanged
we reminisce and make plans on going to a gathering later
he just has to go into what seemed to be my old but different high school gym lobby
when we enter there appears a somber gorilla that somehow
at some point became latched to my back
my friend seemed to not be doing what he came to do but i didn’t notice
the gorillas thoughts were connected to my consciousness
small children come which were older than they looked
she knows them i tell my friend
as i heave after it detached itself from me
then i awaken
i will miss the party i was looking forward on going to
i wanted to bring my french horn
