yeah, right

It was a tried, summer day. One of those days where the rain streams down from the scattered, gray clouds painted across an illuminated blue sky. Sunlight pushed through the cracks of each cloud, and reflected all around the fluttering raindrops. I sat against a tree, panting, just listening to the given melody of the raindrops pounding against the ground and coming all together to create something beautiful; a puddle. The air felt so full as he plopped down beside me with a drenched smile. We laughed as the rain made its way towards us, despite our efforts of seeking shelter beneath a tree. With no other option, we embraced the rain and let it continue to create its own song. We rose together and began our walk once more. His auburn and wild curls were tamed by wetness, and his hair was flattened. I stopped and ran my fingers through those soft curls to wake them up. His eyes looked curiously into mine, and he grinned as he took my hands from his head. Our hands intertwined and danced about, but our eyes remained locked and still. We weren’t looking at each other; we were looking into each other. The rain and the full air were the only thing between us as our eyes explored. He wrapped his long and slender fingers around the small of my back and pulled me towards him. I inhaled his scent and rested my chin on his shoulder. We stood there, together in the middle of the park’s path. I pushed off of his shoulder to look back into those vibrant eyes. We both smiled into a kiss.
