When I was little, I would get flashes of beautiful images, that begged to be drawn. Even today, that is what influences much of my work; the random imaginings of my mind. Art is the one area where I really allow myself indulgence, my creative outlit.

As a small child I would stay up late into the night, tracing images of mickey mouse and coloring books. In fourth grade I took oil painting lessons and learned how to mix colors, such a subtle art. In eigth grade I had the most wonderful art teacher, who truely inspired me to improve my art; without her I would never have known of pastels. In the summer between ninth and tenth grade I taught myself watercolor pencils. And I’ve been learning every since.

Although much of my recent work is oils, I truely love chalk pastel. All of my pastels are done on corrogated cardboard.
