writing from underneath the slippery dip

Riding bareback in thoughts the memory whip caught on that very place you left your last kiss.
I could not write a sad memory of this if I tried.
I confess I tried to make a snare across an unforgiving cheek and trap my heart without living water.
But there are no regret lilies to pick.

All the shiny has rubbed off explaining the underneath elasticity of love between a rock and a hard place.
I didn’t understand I was both at times, the immovable and the rigid slope that slides only one way.
Gratis improbalis was in my lucky dip, a choice to be free to dine on the improbable.

So when does hope take a seat at this table?
Hope was the hand of reasoning that pulled a little tighter on the jugular
yet didn’t cut the wire in the blood completely.
Metaphorically I believe in the blessings.

Artist's Description

Flash Fiction.
This was not a personal musing but some writing I found underneath the slippery dip.
It’s good to be in the moment knowing it does work out for the best.
Gratis improbalis a new word was found there as well, not to be found anywhere else I suspect….
