I am a social media manager/trainer for a small company in the Northwest who loves to read, write and draw. / I adore comics, manga,...

I am a fledgling artist who has recently become obsessed by the magic of copic marker pens.

The focus of my shop is inspiration and recently I have been drawn towards the art of Disney and Superheroes (Marvel, DC and a few amazing indie comics that have been out.) I firmly believe there is something we can learn by letting these characters into our lives and I hope that my art conveys just a little of the magic that these characters have generated over the years.

Before this year, I had no interest in drawing. I had been a self professed fiction writer and a popular fan fiction writer for years and pretty much thought of writing as my craft (hence my BA Hons degree in Creative Writing) I never thought that the ability to create art was in my spectrum.

During a course funded by my workplace enabling me to become a professional trainer for adults, I was introduced to drawing through a 10 minute micro teach session by another delegate. It was after that I bought a sketch pad and started drawing and I have fallen in love with the practice. Not long after that I found copic marker pens and self taught with the help of YouTube and helpful blogs how to correctly blend and use the markers to my advantage.

I have always felt inspired by one of my brothers who is a fully fledged architect (However I would never tell him this). When he draws buildings they seem to come to life on the page and you can’t help feeling the excitement and enthusiasm he has for the work he is doing as you watch. I want to be like that to and give others the same sense of excitement.

Currently I am working on a Disney Collection but I do splash out into other avenues. For me this is all about fun and hopefully making some people smile.

The shop is specialising in Disney Art but you will see a few items from some of my other collections also available too.

DC's Midnighter - A Step in the Right Direction

Warning this will contain spoilers! / I first met Midnighter whilst reading the current DC Grayson run. His character was badass and but also vulnerable in a way that you don’t usually see with male superheroes. From the get go I was interested in how his powers worked and also how the hell any of his enemies would ever get around that! / Not once did I give him any thought of Midnighter perhaps …

Marvel's Jessica Jones - Mind Control and Madness

Last weekend I finally decided to take the plunge and indulge in Marvel’s latest Netflix series Jessica Jones. To be honest I wasn’t as hyped for the series as I had been for Daredevil due to the fact I didn’t know much about the character. As an avid comic reader, I’ve come across her in a few issues but it’s always been a passing mention. / Before engaging the series I was warned by my brother …

The Maze Runner Series - Clever Thriller or a Series of Unanswered Questions?

So recently I have started reading the Maze Runner series. My partner has been harping on about reading the books since he saw the film and has been trying to get me to watch it too but as usual I am one of those I’d rather read the book before I see the movie type of people. / BEWARE THERE WILL BE SPOILERS! / At first upon opening the Maze Runner I found myself a little perplexed by the publishe…
