Artist's Description

The Mandrill is the world’s largest species of monkey. The word mandrill means “man-ape” according to the Oxford English Dictionary. Mandrills are endangered and are hunted for food , either with guns or using dogs and nets. In Cameroon, habitat loss to agriculture is also a threat.

Mandrills are closely related to the baboons and even more closely to the drill.

They live in Central west Africa, Gabon, Congo and Cameroon
