Kate originally gave it to Gwen. She didn’t really intend to, but it seemed right.
Gwen wasn’t interested yet accepted it all the same. However by the time Gwen had gotten home to see Adrian, it had blossomed like an overly pregnant flower. So Gwen gave it to Adrian who accepted it with alacrity.
It wasn’t like Adrian to share, but the grin on his face was infectious. Before he knew it he’d given it to his mum, Margaret, who was surprised and touched. This wasn’t his style, his mum knew that.
Margaret had tea with Ruby from down the road, they often had tea together. Today was somehow different. It showed in Margaret’s stance and, according to Ruby, her sly smile.
Ruby got the shock of her life when Margaret gave it to her. She took it home with her, cheeks burning and a resolute spine.
Later Ruby would say it was the smile that warned her. It made her irritable that evening with Frank, who’d only come over to fix the oven. She gave it to him to make it up to him, and told him to take it home because she didn’t want it anymore.
Frank nursed it all the way home, walking tall, taking care not to jolt it.
Bella, his youngest grandchild, noisily sparkled down the wonky path to meet him. Frank didn’t hear a word Bella said, and decided in an instant to give it to her.
She was entitled to it after all.
So he gave her the kiss.

Ah, a Chinese whispering kiss. Nice.
What a lovely take on the prompt!
I thoroughly enjoyed it ; )
Original take and extremely well written.
wonderful take on the prompt & such lovely writing…so nice to have a sweet twist, mine are always evil lol!!!
Lovely take on the challenge and wonderfully written!
Thanks all – I really wanted a sense that a kiss can be taken so many different ways, passed on, interpreted, re-used, recycled and reinvented. Not sure the 250 words can do this justice! Wish I had more!
Thanks Anya. I love the way you describe the affect of this thing on the different characters.
Excellently written..very visual. Thanks
