Artist's Description

We got up early for the 48 Hour Film competition, and the house we were using overlooks a valley that often has morning mist over it.

So the combination of the mist, the ridge lines of the bush, and the sun coming up gave a nice solid canvas for the pine tree! The roofs of the houses should have messed up a mostly nature based scene, but I felt ended up adding more texture to it.

And again my old Camera Phone (Motorola V3x), does a fantastic lens flare- as it has no hood, the sun just smacks into the plastic cover in front of the lens- lovely!

I see it as a tribute to the power of the sun, that warms the planet as is the giver of life.

Note there is another version of this pic in Portrait format- see`Sun burning off early morning mist 2’.
