Artist's Description

This image was shot inside the Holocaust Tower in the Jewish Museum, Berlin. A bare, concrete, 24 meter high tower into which one is ushered at the end of a visit to the museum. The heavy black metal door is then shut tightly behind you and the room turns pitch black. You are left in the coldness and darkness of this space, your eyes drawn to the only chink light at the top of the tower. It’s not a place one wishes to stop for long.
