Artist's Description

This is pink milk being dropped into a bowl of blue water. If you get the drops to fall fast enough they sometimes collide in mid air as this one has. This is my best drop shot yet. I think I’ve finally got the technique sorted. Yay!!

The colours are as you see. The only photoshop involved is slight cropping and cloning out the spots from the lens filter being splashed in the process. I get so engrossed in taking the shots I keep forgetting to clean the lens. Lucky I use a filter for protection.

Canon EOS 40D. 90mm Macro lens.

Lighting is a camera mounted Speedlight bounced off a white background. Power set to 1/16th.

F29; 1/250th sec; ISO 100. Manual mode. Tripod mounted.
