Artist's Description

The central coast of California is superb in the daytime – rolling grassy hills dotted with live oak. At night though, they take on an other-wordly feeling with stars blazing overhead. Try visiting the Alisal Guest Ranch near Solvang, and look up at the night sky; you’ll see what I mean. These startrails were captured with short exposures taken over more than an hour and stacked using Star Circle Academy stacking software. © A.M. Ruttle. Canon 1Dx, ISO 1000, f4, 80 seconds x 1.3 hours, near Solvang, California, USA.
