Artist's Description

The Flag is the Banner and the women are raising their hands to God.

The Lord is My Banner

Exodus 17: 15 And Moses built an altar. And he called its name, Jehovah My Banner.
Jehovah Nissi

:16 He said, For hands were lifted up to the throne of the Lord God, And he said, A hand is on the throne of Jehovah; war is to Jehovah with Amalekites from generation to generation.
Moses testifies with up raised hands to the power of God displayed in defense of his people.
Moses saw the power of God as he sent his troops into battle lead by Joshua.
When the troops were victorious Moses would stand before the people with his arms up out stretched to heaven. As long as Moses held his hands up the people knew the troops were winning. But when he lowered his hands the Amalekites were succeeding. When Moses hands grew tired they took a stones & put it under his arms to hold them up & Aaron had to hold up his hands. So Joshua overcame the enemy. The victory was the Lord’s. They are not called Holy Wars but wars of Yahweh. The plan is from the throne of God. We raise our hands toward the throne of our God because there is a hand against our God & His throne.

Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation, I will trust & not be afraid
The LORD, the LORD is my strength & my song
He has become my salvation
Is. 13:11 I will punish the world for it’s evil, the wicked for their sins, I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty & will humble the pride of the ruthless.
Psalm 60:4 But for those who fear (respect) you God, you have raised a banner to lift it up because of the truth.
Psalm 20:5 We will shout for joy when we all are victorious & will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord God (& Father of Jesus Christ)Grant all your requests.
Is 13:2 Raise a Banner on a bare hilltop
I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath——-those who rejoice in my triumph.
The Lord is mustering an army for war.

Flags were raised as rallying for troops in preparation for battle & for leading men into action. We have raised our plea & our expression of confidence to our God.

Done in watercolor.
