True Colours

“This is dedicated to my best friend, and the love of my life…my wonderful husband. He took my hand and, from that day, his unconditional love has enabled me to show my ‘true colours’ … (at last.)

True Colours (Sung by Eva Cassidy)

“You with the sad eyes
Don’t be discouraged
Oh I realize
It’s hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness there inside you
Makes you feel so small

But I see your true colours
Shining through
I see your true colours
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colours
True colours are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then,
And don’t be unhappy, can’t remember when
I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you’ve taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I’ll be there

And I see your true colours
Shining through
I see your true colours
That’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colours
True colours are beautiful,
Like a rainbow""

A seascape, created in Photoshop.

I used my own images throughout, except for the two children holding hands.

I blended together these images…

(Brittany, France. Shot with a Cannon EOS 400 F22; ISO100)

(Telgruk Su Mer Brittany. Shot with Cannon EOS 400, F22 ISO 100, 1/10s)

After blending these three images together, much painting followed, using a whole range of Photoshop dry media brushes and a Wacom tablet. The sky was the focus for the painting, although shadows and highlights were painted over the foreground. Different blending modes were used to create the tones needed.

The children were added from a stock image
