Artist's Description

To celebrate British Sausage Week and Bonfire Night, The Hawes Inn offers these specials from 5/11 November:

Toffee Apple Granny – apples in pastry topped with crumble and toffee sauce, served with warm custard (£4.95).

Pork, cheddar cheese and onion banger – Served with Ford Farm cheddar mash, peas, apple fritter and sage gravy (£9.95)

Venison and juniper sausages – Rich venison and juicy juniper, served with braised red cabbage, mash and thyme gravy (£9.95)

The Hawes Inn in South Queensferry is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Picturesque surroundings with a perfect view of the Forth Rail Bridge provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food. The Hawes Inn has strong connections with the celebrated author Robert Louis Stevenson, who was born in Edinburgh on the 13th November 1850. It is said that he stayed in the Inn and actually wrote part of the famous novel ‘Kidnapped’ in one of the rooms. Indeed the Kidnapped actually includes a passage about the Hawes Inn. The 14 Bedroom Innkeeper’s Lodge continues The Hawes Inn ’s tradition of welcoming travellers.
