Artist's Description

amazing food and very fresh, something you would expect from a high end restaurant…and a cozy fireplace!

The Chlachain Inn is located in the fishing village of Mallaig which is found at the end of the Road to the Isles with ferry services to the Western Isles

The Inn was built around 1900 (The name meaning – stone house) and has always been a popular haunt of the local population. In 2004 The Chlachain underwent major refurbishment and now offers something new to the area – a modern clean and bright interior.

Mallaig is a working fishing village with all the amenities of a town thrown in.
Population size is a friendly 1200 – many of whom you’ll meet working in the shops and restaurants.

Much of the country’s best sea food is landed here and includes the renowned Mallaig haddock, succulent prawns, mussels, and fresh salmon.
Restaurant is open 7 days a week, all day.

Mallaig is also the ferry terminal for Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac) services (link) to the Isle of Skye, and the small islands of Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck. There is also a privately operated service to Inverie (Knoydart) and Tarbet with a scenic journey time of approx 45 minutes.
