Ethell.. ( memories of old days! )

My Dad’s old Ford Popular
Winter of ‘63
No one’s car would start
Except for ours
It had a crank handle
Believe it or not
Two cranks and we were off
Like a shot
Me and my brothers
All hid down in the back
So embarrassed
In this old wreck
But as we all snuggled down
I felt so warm
I felt their love for me
Because they wanted
A little brother
They told my Mother
“Don’t bring a girl back
From the hospital”

I’m glad I was born a baby boy
‘Cos if I’d been born a girl
My name would have been Ethell!

Ethell.. ( memories of old days! )
