New Day

I never look back
When I say goodbye
I walk on through
On my journey to
The maze infront of me,
This creeping malaise
Is choking me

I’m scared of the night
Can’t stand bright sunlight
I can only live in twilight
But I must go out tonight

Its something I’d only do for you
Normally I spend my nights
In my ivory hovel
Thinking
Writing
Watching
Listening
Reading and writing

Every evening
I try broaden my horizons
But they are always
Closing in on me

I wish I could see
Beyond the skyline
That awesome distance
Will be mine
Perhaps then I will
Walk in the sunlight
Of a new day

New Day

Artist's Description

Bright sunlight hurts my eyes
and I don’t like the dark.
I used to be agoraphobic.
