Two weeks with Jane

Last case on the carousel
As usual
I tug it out, it’s so heavy
A stranger with my name on a card
She is crying

What’s going on?
She runs to me
Tears on her cheeks
She is shaking

She hugs me so tightly
Then kisses me
This is strange
So very strange

We drive for more miles than I can count
Snow is all around
She tells me who she is
‘So why hasn’t your daughter
Come to pick me up?’
’You’re staying with me!’
I have visions of that film called ‘Misery’

In conclusion I spend two weeks with Jane
In her one bedroom apartment
Where do I sleep?
I’ll let you guess!
