A Song without the Music

I remember a place
So long and far away
Oh to be there again
Just for one day
To kill the pain
For the one I called
My love

Slowly driven mad
The foulness growing day by day
She talked of suicide
But she could not decide
She asked me to kill her
Begged me to end the pain

I told her that if I did it
I would have to kill us both
This put a whole new view on life
Into her sad eyes
She said she would endure the pain
To give me life to love again
