Music Unbound

The sky stares down upon me
I look up to see
Thousands of stars are calling me
Their music makes me free

Their harmonies astound
The very ground
Upon which I stand
In this beautiful land

But then the music
Is transformed
By steel and glass
Architecture freezes the music

Sound pollution killing all around
No reason to the resonance
Bouncing off the sidewalk
Reflected barely to the light

I decide to climb
To the stars
So I may hear
Their music once again

Atop the building vast
Above The Village overcast
In smog and fumes
Towards The Apple’s past

I look below into the haze
From The Empire’s frozen music
There must have been days
Before this crazy folly

As night falls
The stars are below
For miles they stretch
My quest is lost

I look up with hope
For one single note
One star to sing to me
And there you are

Your vibration starts the symphony
Once again the harmonies released
To give life to the sky
Music unbound for you and I
