Artist's Description

My first ever landscape was of Davaar Island mouth of Campbeltown Loch off the east coast of Kintyre, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is a tidal island, linked to the mainland by a natural shingle causeway called the Dhorlin near Campbeltown at low tide. The crossing can be made in around 40 minutes. It’s something I have spent much of my life looking at and coming into Campbeltown on the ferry last year I was impressed by its magnitude. Have a look on google, it has quite a history.

This landscape made me realise grass is a nightmare to paint.
