Fairy Willow

Palest skin and fairest hair
Long and flowing in end of summers breeze
Two blushed cheeks with rose pink lips
Tall and thin as needlework pin
Longest of legs that disappear
Ballerina fit pointy toes
Tutu dress of willow green leaves
Gossamer denier light fairy wings
Minutest of stitching hold tightly sewn up
Delicate gives leap as toadstool she hops

From thrown away tat that others discard
Her furniture is carefully carved of acorn cups
And tea-sets from shells of nuts
Carpets and cushions of knitted fur
She has lamp shades from old toothpaste lids
Her bedspreads hankies and lace
Mirrors made of shiniest tin foil
Surrounded by match stick case
Counters from discarded and broken toys
Food forage from woods each day

Dancing encircling fairy ring myths
Like those appear on lawns
Leapfrog and tag round mushroom corks
Her home in the roots of a trunk
Femininely furnished with magical touch
In humans time she makes
All kinds of games for young to play
But if you try to sneak a peek
To a fairy dollhouse she’ll disappear
You won’t catch her she’s too fast
