That house, by the stream, with the windmill

How I wished
as I grew,
That one day
I would live,
in that house,
by the stream,
with the windmill.

We’d frolick
and play,
Like young lambs
in the fields
by that house,
by the stream,
with the windmill.

We’d picnic
by day,
And star gaze
by the night,
near that house,
by the stream,
with the windmill.

Pick apples
and bluebells,
And swing from
the Oak,
of that house,
by the stream,
with the windmill.

Alas, I am grown,
and the big house?
Its gone,
with the Oak.
Now a factory.
A stream.
But no windmill.
