Cheaters Never Get Anywhere.

Scribbled on a piece of paper
Left on the counter
Her words marked in red ink
She wrote
“I left my heart on the floor.
Will you pick it up on your way home?”
Tear stained paper
And milk left out of the refrigerator
Reflecting the empty closest
Where her clothes once laid
His lies a burden
She could not take anymore
So she left his twisted lies on the bed
Without regret
And walked out the door
Birds that don’t chirp
Frozen in the palettes of snow
Roofs weighing down
And roads catching falling snowflakes
Pure and innocently white
Turning a disgusting brown on the ground
She couldn’t bare it
And the first words out of his mouth were
“You found out?”
I guess she was never supposed to
Keep it hidden, hide it deep
Tired of the deceit
Too weak to fight for it
Too hard to walk away
Hanging her hopes on the
Unlit stars
All the pretty lights in his eyes
Blew themselves away that night
Now she pays the price
For his weakness
For the moment he couldn’t say no

Cheaters Never Get Anywhere.
