My Song

Who gives you the right, to say that I am wrong, simply because I choose, to sing a different song. Do you have a special knowledge, or perhaps a crystal ball, that states unequivocally, that it’s your song, or none at all.

It must be quite a burden, to always have to be right, to never see things in colour, always in black and white, to never hear the songs, that those not like you may sing, must be like listening to a violin, played with only single string.

Do you never stop to question, or wonder what you might miss, when all that you don’t agree with, is automatically dismissed. You listen to life in mono, instead of stereo, quadraphonic or surround, do you have a secret, the rest of us haven’t found.

Or is it that you’re frightened, of things you can’t comprehend, it’s easier to dismiss them, then to admit that you don’t understand. Or do your truly believe that yours is the only way, and the only thing worth listening to, is what you have to say.

I don’t have the right to judge you and say that you are wrong, but I will sing loud and clear, the words of my own song. And if you chose not to listen, that certainly is your right, but since the world is full of songs, best plug your ears real tight.

And if by chance, one day you decide, that perhaps you may have been wrong, just open up your heart and mind, to the variety of nature’s songs.
Be assured that in all life, there are many different ways, to accomplish what we must, to make through the day.
