Hard to believe this photo was taken in the middle of the city of Paterson NJ, but it was. It is a gorgeous little canal that is behind a Burger King on Market Street. It apparently was part of the Ivanhoe Mill system and somehow connects with the Passaic River. It is roughly across from the Great Falls Historic Landmark and probably part of the park system.

I took lovely photos this day of the mill and a mill at the other end of the canal, as well as two old wooden bridges and a man made waterfall at the beginning of the canal. maybe that was part of a loch of the canal – I need to go back and read and write down all the information from the signs there. I will gradually post those photos here. the most amazing thing though is, and if you know Paterson you know it is AMAZING, that this beautiful scene is from Paterson NJ. I am guessing alot of people do not even know this canal is there.

Dedicated to all those photographers who love to explore and then find hidden treasure like I did.
